  • 2 pounds EdenThistle Ground Beef
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 tsp ginger root (peeled & minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 4 tsp chili garlic sauce (or Sriracha hot sauce)


Note: for this recipe I like to start with half of the brown sugar called for and add more if needed to avoid it being overly sweet.

  1. Cook 2 lb. Ground Beef with 8 cloves garlic (minced) and 4 tsp. ginger root (peeled and minced or diced small) over medium-high heat until crumbled and cooked through.
  2. Once cooked through, add a scant 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 2 tsp. Sesame Oil, 1/2 cup Soy Sauce, 4 tsp Chili Garlic Sauce or Sriracha hot sauce. Mix these ingredients into meat.
  3. Serve warm over rice with picked veggies and roasted broccoli. 

Side Options

We love this meal served over Rice with Pickled Vegetables and Roasted Broccoli.

Helpful Hint: We like to make our own quick-picked vegetables.  We simply thinly slice desired veggies (I love cucumbers, carrots and/or onions with this meal), place sliced vegetables in a shallow dish and pour 1/4-1/2 cup of Sweet Rice Wine Vinegar over vegetables. Allow them to sit for 10 minutes, stirring a few times so that all vegetables are rotated into the vinegar while the rest of the meal is prepared. Super easy to do and well worth it for added flavor profile!
